Born
and raised in Forest Hills Queens, the son of Hungarian Holocaust
survivors, Weiss was active in a variety of stage acting in High
School. He attended SUNY Binghamton, and graduated in 1985 with
a BA in Economics.
Weiss
was a radio DJ and hosted a radio public-affairs show named, “On
Target”, and was active in establishing a Food and Book Co-op
on the SUNY Binghamton campus.
He
moved to New York City in 1985 and began a career in recruitment,
which led to his founding of Promed Personnel, a medical specialty
recruitment firm in 1997. Weiss now has offices in New York City,
Long Island, Miami and Plantation, Florida.
During the Summer of 2001, Weiss dad the idea to host benefit parties
in the Hamptons, at “Rubi Red” in Wainscott, NY. Recognizing
the need and opportunity to connect young people with charitable
organizations, Weiss founded Party4Charity in 2002.
Weiss’
other entrepreneurial business interests include Jean Luc Restaurant
in New York City and JWOO.com, the Jewish Single’s Network.
